Sanitary pad sizes: choosing length, fit and packs
A pad length describes coverage. Choose the product family, compare its measurements, then check what the selected package contains.
Sanitary pad sizes are often shown in millimeters. That number describes the pad's length. It helps you compare physical coverage, but it cannot by itself tell you the absorbency, fit or wear time. Treat size, product format and package quantity as three separate choices.
First, choose a pad family
X9 sells Ultra Thin Pads and Cotton Cover Pads as separate product families. Compare the materials and original packaging for the family you are considering. “Ultra thin” describes a product style; it does not supply a tested capacity. “Cotton cover” does not mean every layer is cotton.
| Product family | Listed pad lengths |
|---|---|
| Ultra Thin Pads | 245 mm, 290 mm and 330 mm |
| Cotton Cover Pads | 240 mm, 280 mm and 320 mm |
These are measurements from the current public product choices, not equivalent absorbency levels. Check the product page for the latest available options. For an inch reference, divide millimeters by 25.4: a 245 mm pad is about 9.65 inches long. This conversion changes the unit, not the product's intended use.
How do you choose a length?
- Identify your starting point. If you already use a pad whose physical coverage works for you, note its measured length and shape. Use that as a comparison, rather than transferring a brand's “regular” or “overnight” label.
- Check the underwear fit. Compare the pad shape and any wings shown on that specific option. Extra length will not correct a product that sits poorly in your underwear.
- Check product-specific instructions. Select a product intended for menstrual use and your needs. Do not infer fluid capacity from its dimensions or packaging color.
- Confirm the exact option. Recheck the selected length and package caption before adding it to the cart. The same product family can offer different counts at different lengths.
Does a longer pad mean better overnight protection?
A longer pad offers a different footprint, but length alone does not verify overnight performance. Read the labeling for that specific product. Do not interpret “overnight” as a fixed number of hours or a guarantee that changing is unnecessary. If you prefer a wearable format, compare disposable period underwear sizing and use instead of treating it as another pad length.
What does quantity 1 buy?
Quantity refers to the selected selling package. A single pack and a multipack are different choices. For example, the 245 mm single-pack option on the Ultra Thin Pads page currently contains 48 pads. A selected package containing eight packs of 48 contains 384 pads at quantity 1. Increasing cart quantity to 2 buys two of the selected packages. Confirm the live caption, because other lengths can have different contents.
Compare prices per pad only after checking the full package count. Discounts and eligibility are confirmed in the cart; an article cannot reserve a price or stock.
Do you need to change longer pads less often?
The CDC advises changing sanitary pads every few hours, and more often with heavier flow. A length measurement does not override hygiene guidance or the item's instructions.
